Food For Constipation

Suffering from constipation doesn’t have to happen, yet many people have a constant battle with trying to eliminate daily. With a few simple changes, most people, who have this problem, can begin to have daily bowel movements on their own without laxatives; but, doing so requires changes in habits that some are not willing to make. For those who want to make the changes necessary, to give up using laxatives and feeling miserable, there are a few changes in eating habits that should take care of the problem. Remember, though, that sometimes constipation is due to the use of pain killers or muscle relaxants that are prescribed, and if that is the cause, it can be more difficult to stop constipation as long as those medicines are being used. Otherwise, these few simple techniques can easily give most people fast constipation relief.

If you have been eating a high fat, high protein diet infused with highly processed foods, stop. It is important to include enzyme rich, high fiber foods, such as fresh fruits and fresh vegetables in your diet. Some healthy fats, and some healthy proteins can be included, but too much of these slow the elimination process. Drinking eight to ten cups of water daily also helps to move food through your system.

About thirty minutes to an hour before bedtime, eat a bowl of bran cereal and/or an apple. This almost always assures that you will have a healthy bowel movement in the morning when you get up. A cup of dandelion root tea is also helpful to keep things moving, while, at the same time, working on the liver to make it more efficient at cleansing your system and removing toxins.

Dried apricots, grapes, and a tablespoon of olive oil included in your diet each evening can also help to keep your elimination process working. Using these foods in the evening, while you are at home, gives your digestive system time to process them and be ready in the morning to empty your bowels.

Making these simple changes will make a huge difference in your health. You will begin to feel better and look better, as you begin to get toxins out of your system, instead of letting them build up in your body. The healthy foods will also nourish your body, and the water will make your cells function better and more efficiently, and there will no longer be a need to depend on laxatives.
