Small Glass Display Cabinet

Whether you collect thimbles or tiny locomotives, a small glass display cabinet will help keep your precious items clean and help prevent them from accidental breakage.  Figurines, small curios and other items can be kept in a small space, but they can often get dusty in a plain wooden curio box.  They can also get bumped during housecleaning or family celebrations.

Putting the items in something with doors helps keep them from breaking.  Glass doors also you to proudly display those special items, while alleviating the need to dust frequently.  There are many different kinds of pieces available to show off your collectibles.  Some pieces are narrow and stand on the floor.  They may be made to fit into a corner or a narrow section of wall.  They may even fit in a hallway or foyer.

Others are made to be hung on the wall.  They will come with hanging brackets and hardware to finish the job. You will need some basic tools for installation.  There are those models that can sit on a piece of furniture, such as a high shelf, credenza, or any other display table. No installation is required for these.

While most are made of wood, there are some available in acrylic.  This allows for viewing of items from all angles.  It is a very durable material, so it is unlikely to break with normal use.  Such products are often used for shows or conferences, though they can work in a home with more contemporary decor.  These are a bit more costly than others.  A 15 by 5 by 5 inch case starts at around $100.  Small units are an option for showing off dolls or larger figures individually.  Wooden frames contain glass on four sides.  Individual units allow you to scatter collections throughout a space or room.
