What kind you decide to purchase can vary depending on your outdoor needs; do you want something decorative for outdoor parties, or security spot lights to keep your property safe. The latter should be seriously considered if you have a medium to large size yard, patio area, and/or pool area, as having security spot lights would deter would be thieves and burglars from breaking in.
You can easily buy security solar spot lights in the range of $20 – $30 online. While there are regular stores, such as Home Depot and Lowe’s, that sell solar powered lighting, the prices online are always better; in fact, these stores also have an online retail site where you can buy the same things that are selling in a store near you, but for a slightly reduced price.
When buying online, you should always check the site to make sure that the shipping is free, with the purchase. Some online retailers offer free shipping but others do not. If you purchase from eBay, which does offer some good deals, you may very well have to pay for shipping charges. Also, many online retailers allow for returns within a specified time frame; check the website you are buying from as the exact policy differs from retailer to retailer.
It also helps to know what you want; different types of solar spot light have different dimensions; some are brighter and others are more suited for smaller yards and pathways. You can also find some that have a motion detector attached as well; many will automatically turn on the lights if it senses motion within a certain range. Keep in mind if you do buy a security solar powered spot light with motion detector, you would need to keep your pets in a kennel or indoors, or they may set off the motion detector, giving a false alarm.
