Orange Crib Bedding

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Expecting a baby means bringing out your creative side, as you want to ensure that you come up with the very best possible design. It’s a given that all the necessities will have to be there including the crib, cabinets and other furniture. While most people choose the traditional baby pink or baby blue color for their baby’s nursery, there are far more interesting colors out there such as orange. It may sound strange, but softer shades of orange can actually have a positive impact on the overall decor of a room. Increasingly, people are starting to use this color as evidenced by its recent popularity. Instead of opting for traditional colors, they are wisely going for something a bit out of the ordinary.

Interior designers tend to encourage the use of bright colors, particularly the color orange because it has the tendency to liven up a room while also providing a sense of tranquility and peace. That being said, many of these same designers also recommend using bright colors minimally to avoid overdoing things. Rather than painting the whole room orange, for example, you could opt to have orange crib bedding installed instead. This is a great way to add color to the room without proving too much of a good thing. Adding colors that complement orange like pink or brown can increase the attractiveness of the room.

The easiest way to find any type of crib bedding is to browse through stores online where you’ll find plenty of different styles and designs to choose from. Online shops also offer cheaper prices, allowing your money to go farther. As mentioned before, when you’re looking to purchase crib bedding it’s important not to go overboard with the bright colors. Keep everything in moderation so that the final appearance of the room will not be overpowering. Dual Control Double Electric Blanket

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Not all electric blankets are created the same.  If you want to enjoy the most warm, comfortable sleep possible, there are a few things that you need to look for in your blanket.  Here are a few of them.

First, if you share a bed with someone else, look into getting a dual control double electric blanket.  These blankets will let each person set the temperature to their choosing and will fit anything from a double down to a 4ft bed.  With this, you won’t have to worry about who’s going to have control of the temperature, leaving ones person freezing or sweating the entire night.

Another nice extra to look for in your electric blanket is a pre-heat setting.  With this setting, you’ll be able to turn your blanket on several minutes before you plan on going to bed and it will be nice and warm for you by the time you’re ready to tuck yourself in.  It’s a great addition and you won’t have to wait for your blanket to warm up before you go to bed.

Another thing to look for Is how the remote control is setup.  Older blankets have the remote setup on a cord that is attached to the blanket.  This keeps the remote handy, but if you toss and turn during the night, it might wake you up, or you might even mess with the controls and turn the heat way up or way down.  Many newer blankets offer a wireless remote with them that will allow you the set the temperature and place the remote safely out of reach.

Finally, look at what type of blanket you’ll be buying.  Most electric blankets people think about are made to go over your body and keep you warm.  However, there are also other blankets made to put under your bed, modeled after Korean “ondol” heat, that will warm you up from underneath.

Whatever type of blanket you choose, make sure that you look at all the features before you make a decision.
